Dani Martín is one of the most important artists (author, composer and performer) of the last 15 years in Spain. His songs marked a generation for a decade (2000-2010) at the head of the successful pop-rock group, El Canto del Loco, a band that beat innumerable records.
More than 2 million albums sold (6 studio albums, several live shows, DVDs and a movie that premiered with great success), ticket sales records, tours of more than 300 concerts in 1 year, a milestone filling 3 consecutive nights The Plaza de Las Ventas, countless awards including 10 Top 40 prizes, 2 Ondas prizes, Music Award for the best tour and several MTV awards, including the MTV Europe Music Award for the best Spanish artist.
The band put an indefinite end to his career after the release in Spain and America in 2010 of "Radio La Colifata presents El Canto Del Loco" an album that includes a selection of his re-recorded hits on horseback between Mexico and Argentina, including collaborations of great artists such as Alejandro Sanz, Vicentico, Natalia Lafourcade or Leiva and that would take them to cover a large part of Latin America during 2010.
In October 2010, Dani Martín published 'Pequeño', his first solo album with which he would reach the triple platinum record with four consecutive weeks in the number 1 of the sales lists in Spain and 2 years in the list of the most sold. He also received awards such as the 40 Principales Award for Best Artist, the Best Artist Dial Award and the 100th Best Artist Award. On his 2010-2012 tour, Dani Martín offered more than 120 concerts attended by more than 300,000 people.
Among his most outstanding collaborations as a soloist are those made with Tony Bennett for his album "Viva Duets" where they sing the classic duo "Are you having any fun?" Which would be the first single extracted from that album, and with Miguel Bosé with whom he sings a duet for his album "Papitwo" the song "Te digo amor".
In September 2013 "Dani Martín", his second solo, was published simultaneously in Spain and America. This record was recorded between Los Angeles, Miami and Madrid, and produced by George Noriega (winner of a Grammy and producer of Shakira, Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez and Gloria Estefan) and by Bori Alarcón. The musicians who have participated in the recording are Paul McCartney's beatle live band: Abe Laboriel Jr. (drums, percussion), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Brian Ray (bass). This disc also includes the special collaboration of Joaquín Sabina, with whom he plays the duo the song "Por las venas".
The mixes of the album have been run by Michael Brauer (Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Coldplay, John Mayer, Wilco, Ron Sexsmith ...) at Electric Lady Studio (New York) and the mastering is the work of another teacher: Bob Ludwig (Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Police, Madonna, Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Radiohead, Nirvana, Green Day, Dire Straits ...). Names that have written the history of pop and rock in the last half century.
